Ender Ilkay's proposal to build nearly 300 houses next to 17 km of the Juan de Fuca trail threatens to set a precedent that would open the JdF coast to reckless development.
A public hearing on his application has been scheduled for September 6 and 7 at Edward Milne School in Sooke.
The CRD board has the authority to protect our home from urban sprawl. This hearing is our chance to make sure they here us say that this is exactly what we expect them to do.
**CLARIFICATION**
The CRD has booked the school on September 6th from 5pm to 10pm for the hearing and also on the 7th if it's needed.
So if the speakers list on the first day extends past 10pm we will reconvene on the following day at 5pm.
