You are invited to a private screening of Gasland, the 2010 Sundance award winning documentary on the dangers of hydraulic fracturing (fracking) in natural gas extraction, particularly on the effects of clean, safe drinking water.
Lovesocial (www.lovesocial.org) has taken on 2010 Sundance winning documentary Gasland as a pro bono Social Media project. As soon as the film aired on HBO in the United States, it took the media by storm (see some of the press coverage below). Lovesocial and its supporters wanted Vancouver to see it (currently distribution rights are only for HBO US) because hydraulic fracturing is happening in British Columbia right as we speak.
Admission is by donation, and the doors are open to the public, but please be advised that the theater seats only 180, so we do advise that you RSVP in order to obtain a seat. This is a documentary that is very relevant and we think you would enjoy it. After the film we will be providing information on Canadian fracking operations.
For media, we are able to provide information on how to contact the film's director and producer, Josh Fox.
