Monthly Giving

A monthly donation is one of the best ways to show your passion for British Columbia's natural resources. Your monthly gifts help us plan for the future and respond to urgent campaign issues the moment they arise. It is also an easy and convenient way to make regular donations and can be discontinued whenever you choose. Click here to begin your monthly donations. In Tribute

A donation made to Dogwood Initiative in honour of friends, family or a passed loved one is a meaningful way to show your appreciation. A tribute gift can celebrate a milestone such as a birthday, anniversary or graduation. A memorial gift can help create a legacy to honour a life well-lived. When you make a tribute gift, Dogwood will send an appropriate card according to your directions.

Legacy Giving

Dogwood Initiative is going to help British Columbia become the model for sustainable land reform, ensuring healthy and prosperous communities throughout the province. You can make a significant contribution to this work by making a legacy gift. The most common form of legacy gift is a bequest in your will. We greatly appreciate your consideration of one of the most significant investments you can make to protect this incredible province.

It’s easy, a simple directive in your will can bring welcome support to Dogwood Initiative.  You can start today:

  • ensure your wishes are respected – prepare or review your will and contact your financial advisor (a financial planner, lawyer or accountant) to ask for help in establishing a charitable gift;
  • choose your bequest to be either a specific dollar amount or a percentage or your assets;
  • think beyond cash – you can leave stocks, real estate, insurance policies and personal property to non-profit organizations

    Gifts of Securities

    Helping communities is now less taxing!

    Publicly-traded securities include stocks, bonds or mutual funds. Donating stock instead of cash is one of the most cost-effective ways to support the campaigns of Dogwood Initiative. Typically, when you sell appreciated stock you are required to pay tax on 50 percent of the capital gain.However, if you donate the stock, there is no capital gain tax owing and you receive a charitable tax credit that will offset other taxes.

    Securities donations to Dogwood Initiative are received through the Institute for New Economics Public Research Association Inc. acting as a fiscal sponsor by operating a designated fund, "The Dogwood Initiative Fund".
