On March 26, more than 2,000 people came together for the No Tankers: Our Coast, Our Decision rally in Vancouver. These photos capture some of the spirit of the day.

It was an amazing rally - we must make our voices heard - and tell everyone we meet what is at stake - unbelievably most people in Vancouver don't know about that Kinder Morgan wants to increase oil tanker traffic in Burrard Inlet to 280 a year!!!!THE RISK IS TOO GREAT! NO TANKERS ON BC COAST! THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT PICTURES

I live on Gabriola Island and I was at the Vancouver Rally and also at the one in Comox on Saturday March 31st. I was so inspiring to see people of many ages, whole families, even a dog who sang at the right moments! I am 84 and I have not given up yet although I have been an acitvist for 63 years. We must put pressure on the Fed Govt.

CBC is based in Eastern Canada don't forget. Eastern Canadians hardly know the west exists. Ontario voters basically elected Stephen Harper.

We need to win this battle and we need to walk the walk. Our words are meaningless if we do not all reduce our dependency on oil.

I was happy to be at the No Tankers rally on March 26. It felt like the "good old days" of peace march gatherings even with the limited crowd. How disappointing that Quebec students can rally 2 km of support for their protest against education fee increases while the turnout on March 26 was so few in comparison. I was almost in tears during the speeches. How is it possible to create this destruction and misery for the sake of a quick profit, no matter the consequences. I am glad I was there to show I did not want this project to happen. Hopefully, there will be many more protesters at the next rally.

I'm writing to let you understand what a awesome encounter our daughter obtained browsing your blog. She discovered too many issues, which include what it's like to have a great teaching nature to let other folks without difficulty know a variety of hard to do issues. You actually exceeded our expectations. Many thanks for imparting such informative, trusted, revealing not to mention easy guidance on your topic to Lizeth. best wishes
