Working With our Partners
The struggle to slow climate change is a collective struggle. We need our society's most powerful collective institutions: our governments, to be bold champions in the arena of climate policy. And boldness needs to be encouraged and supported, because unprepared politicians can be hurt by moving too far ahead of public opinion.
Dogwood Initiative participates in collaborative processes to shape bolder climate policy in BC, and to increase the public's appetite for bold policy.
Dogwood joined BC's leading environmental organizations in providing input to the government-commissioned 'Climate Action Team' report, and we continue to add to the chorus praising the implementation of North America's first carbon tax.
We recognize that an escalating carbon tax, combined with a regional, industrial 'cap-and-trade' system is absolutely necessary to meaningfully tackle climate change.
